Remove red eyes from image

This Photoshop tutorial will teach you how to remove red eyes from any image. Red eyes are caused by the flash from a camera which is reflected off the back of the eye. For this tutorial I will be using the Red eye tool which is self explanatory.


Remove red eyes from image

Step 1

Open an image in Photoshop that contains red eyes like below.



Step 2

Select the Red eye tool from the toolbar and drag over the areas of the image which contain red eyes as shown in the image below. You may need to repeat this procedure several if necessary.



You should now have an image with no red eyes.

i tried doing this but how come the eyes turned into whitish color when i chose black?it made d eye look worst..can u pls teach me wat to do?thanks!

@mei li. Make sure you have selected the Red Eye Tool with the pupil size and the darken amount set to a higher percentage. eg 50%

Also make sure you use an image with red eyes because the red eye tool ONLY looks for red, so images with another colour, apart from red, won't work.

The red eye tool in on the toolbar in the same location as the spot healing tool.
